David Coolidge and Small Works of Art
November 23* - December 31, 2008

Coolidge
"Grand Canal Palazzi" by David Coolidge watercolor 27"x32" 2007

David Coolidge has been featured with a solo exhibition of his finely detailed watercolors twice before at our gallery. The benefit of featuring his work during this period of time is that we can devote more than two weeks for his collectors to view this delightful selection of watercolors. This season's collection of watercolors consists of work from his past travels to other parts of the world; however, rest assured that a few of his Florida images will be included as well. His works have a way of transporting the viewer and perhaps you will be swept away to a snow covered landscape this fall, without ever leaving the gallery!

Gallery Group Exhibition
January 2 - January 23, 2009

Kipniss
"Just Two" by Robert Kipniss oil on panel 9"x12" 2008

The first three weeks of 2009 will have all of our American masters on display, plus a special feature of works by Darrel Austin (1907-95).

Herman Maril: Birds and Beasts
January 25* - February 6, 2009

Maril
"Beach Picnic" by Herman Maril oil on canvas 40"x30" 1982

Baltimore's most famous artist was equally at home in Provincetown, MA and the famous art association there honored Maril's career with an exhibition last summer "Two Worlds of Herman Maril". Maril is a noted American master who started painting during the depression and saw his work included in scores of museum collections. Our exhibition will focus on his love of using animals as subject matter and will include oils and watercolors from all periods of his career.

Hunt Slonem: Rhapsody in Blues
February 8* - February 20, 2009

Slonem
"Morning Glory" by Hunt Slonem oil on canvas 37"x37" 2008
Slonem book
"Pleasure Palaces" book by Vincent Katz

There is little question as to Hunt Slonem’s fame in the art world. And we are honored to present his work in our 13th annual exhibition for the artist. Some patrons will remember our “Pink” show, so is befitting that now we should do a “blue” show. Obviously Hunt works in every color in the spectrum and one visit to his studio will reveal that he doesn’t really have a “favorite color”. But part of the job of an art gallery is to create interest in an artist’s work through any means available. Trite as it may appear, the show still must stand on the merits of the artist’s creativity and Hunt accomplishes that masterfully. We promise with these works not to leave you feeling blue, but instead energized by the beauty and dazzled by the variety in this exhibition.

Robert Vickrey: New Egg Tempera Paintings
February 22* - March 6, 2009

Vickrey

He has been featured annually since 1982 and was honored this year by the New York Print Club.

Barnet had one show of these new works at the Montclair Art Museum in New Jersey recently. This is our first sales gallery showing of this new series of works.
